Macchina della Luce is a ceiling lamp from Catellani & Smith which is a further development of the Luci d'Oro collection. The series is created by Enzo Catellani with inspiration from the sun and the heat and color scale of the fire. Macchina della Luce Mod. A consists of four circular discs in aluminum that are covered with thin sheets of gold or silver, where the largest disc has been decorated with floating blades. The lamp comes with a matching construction in brass or nickel-plated. The light sources placed on top of the three lower panels scatter a soft and indirect light in the room. The distance between the discs can be adjusted between 15 and 30 cm to create the desired expression on the lamp, whose charm lies in never being the same. Exclusively made by hand in Italy, right on the river Serio in the area around Bergamo.
